This forms a foundation to build key skills as a fitness professional. It also includes an in-depth module regarding the role of a fitness instructor and important instructional skills.

The purpose of this course is to cover the major anatomical knowledge of the body in relation to the skeleton and the muscles. This will provide a valuable foundation for understanding how they work and function during physical activity and exercise. In order to affect change in physical performance and the appearance of the human body, we must understand sufficient aspects of anatomy and the working physiology of the various systems involved in physical exercise and metabolism.
The fitness instructor module covers the job role, important health and safety aspects, and how to develop motivational and instructional skills for coaching exercise effectively.
This course is the first of 6 modules delivered as part of the Nordic Personal Trainer Certificate (NPTC). The initial first term fees include a €500 registration deposit as well as the standard NPTC term fee of €675, bringing the starting payment to €1175.

Eligibility criteria to enrol in the Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Fitness (and the NPTC) includes:
- Evidence of identity and at least 18 years of age
- Evidence of completion of high school level education
- Be proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English
The 2 courses contain over 15 hours of video content with a range of varied assessments. The required learning is divided into 18 lessons and a range of assessments based around the following topics:
