Description

Nutrition for Health and Fitness:

This 100% online nutrition certificate will teach you the scientific fundamentals behind the food we eat, including carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and hydration. It will also take you beyond into real-world application of nutrition knowledge to cover issues such as eating for weight management, fueling endurance and intermittent exercise, and how to ensure optimal nutrition for muscle building.

Business Skills for Personal Training:

Fitness delivery and personal training are truly customer service focused vocations. To succeed it is essential to be able to develop a memorable brand, create an attractive product portfolio, design eye-catching advertisements, leverage social media platforms, deliver an innovative marketing plan, set up effective sales processes, and ultimately, understand how to create and deliver a clear business strategy.

Course components

Nutrition for Health and Fitness module has 6 hours of video lessons and 9 assessments spread across the following topics:

1. Introduction to nutrition
2. Digestion
3. Carbohydrates
4. Fats
5. Proteins
6. Vitamins
7. Minerals
8. Fluid balance and hydration
9. Diet for endurance exercise
10. Diet for high-intensity exercise
11. Diet for muscular development
12. Diet for body fat reduction

The Business Skills for Personal Training module has just over 10 hours of video lessons with 7 assessments across the following subjects:

2. Personal Training: Key principles for delivery
3. Introduction to the business of personal training
4. Personal training business models
5. Personal training products and services
6. Personal training business branding
7. Business planning
8. Business marketing
9. Selling personal training
10. PT business documentation

Prerequisites

Completion of the Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Fitness course delivered in the first term of the NPTC course.
